Departure from the Plaza de San Juan (Telde) towards the Barranco de Telde, which we will cross by the Puente de los Siete Ojos, turn left to take the GC-80 and then the first of the timed sections begins, a slight ascent through the Valle de San Roque to Valsequillo to finish after the Montaña del Helechal, a 2nd category pass at +750 m altitude, then we descend to Valsequillo for a light refreshment and to be able to continue the march regrouped. We continue down to Telde, where we will pass again through the start and finish area of the “starter” category and the start of the Advanced category, then we will take the GC-100 by the ring road towards La Barranquera. We continue at controlled speed through Cuatro Puertas, Ingenio, and Agüimes. Here we start the second timed section on GC-551 towards Era del Cardón and GC-65 to Santa Lucía, turn right to Alto de Temisas 2nd category and end of the 2nd timed section at +900 m altitude, descent again to Agüimes, and take towards Barranco de Guayadeque, turn right to Ingenio and then start the third timed section. The “advanced” category will finish just at the beginning of the hardest ramps and then they will have to return to Telde with their bibs covered in groups arranged by the organisers. The rest will continue their ascent to Pico Las Nieves via the Pasadilla slope, a special category pass at an altitude of +1,940 m with ramps of over 21%. Once the finish line has been crossed at the highest point of the island, each runner will have to descend along the GC-130 on their own with their bibs covered, or in groups arranged by the organisers to the starting point in Telde, where the prize-giving ceremony and a well-deserved lunch will take place.
