La Gran Canaria Bike Week exporta la isla como paraíso ciclista

Una noticia que nunca hubiéramos querido anunciar.
Lo hemos peleado hasta el último momento, pero nos hemos visto obligados a aplazar para 2023 la semana de la bicicleta de Gran Canaria, prevista del 3 al 11 de diciembre.
Pese a todos nuestros esfuerzos en salvar los contratiempos que se nos han ido presentando para que la 34 Edición fuera una realidad, buscando alternativas a las afecciones en varias de las vías programadas para el paso de nuestra caravana ciclista, lamentamos comunicarte esta triste noticia.
Tomar la decisión no ha sido fácil, ni para la Concejalía de Deportes San Bartolomé de Tirajana, ni para nuestra Organización DG Eventos, como los máximos responsables de este evento.
Hemos concentrado nuestros esfuerzos en garantizar tu seguridad, la del público y por supuesto la de nuestro equipo, que tanto hemos trabajado para que vivieras la mejor semana de la bicicleta de la historia.
El cierre imprevisto de algunos tramos de carretera importantes para el paso de nuestro pelotón, así como el retraso en la ejecución en las obras de acondicionamiento y rehabilitación que se vienen acometiendo desde el paso de la tormenta Hermine a finales de septiembre, han sido un obstáculo insalvable.
Las múltiples modificaciones realizadas y el escaso tiempo con el que contamos para hacerlo, no fueron suficientes para que la Dirección General de Tráfico – España tuviese el margen necesario para el estudio y autorización correspondiente de los cambios. Esto ha derivado en la denegación de la totalidad del evento, incluso para aquellas etapas que no estaban afectadas por los cambios.
Este año notaremos su ausencia y nos quedaremos con las ganas de recorrer los distintos municipios de Gran Canaria en 8 etapas. Un pelotón siempre acompañado por un importante dispositivo de seguridad encabezado por la Guardia Civil, una veintena de motoenlaces y servicios de emergencias.
Sabemos que prefieres salir a rodar, pero esta situación no nos deja más alternativa que ofrecerte la devolución del importe de tu inscripción o bien, mantenerlo como reserva de tu plaza para el próximo año.

News that we would never have wanted to announce.
We have fought until the last moment, but we have been forced to postpone to 2023 the GranCanariaBikeWeek, scheduled from 3 to 11 December.
Despite all our efforts to overcome the setbacks that have been presented to us to make the 34th edition a reality, looking for alternatives to the affections in several of the scheduled routes for the passage of our cycling caravan, we regret to communicate this sad news.
Taking this decision has not been easy, neither for the Sports of San Bartolomé de Tirajana or for our Organization, as the main responsible of this event.
We have concentrated our efforts in guaranteeing your safety, that of the public and of course that of our team, who have worked so hard to make you experience the best Bike Week in history.
The unforeseen closure of some important road sections for the passage of our peloton, as well as the delay in the execution of the refurbishment and rehabilitation works that have been undertaken since the passage of the storm Hermine at the end of September, have been an insurmountable obstacle.
The multiple modifications made and the short time we had to do it, were not enough for the Spanish General Directorate of Trffic (DGT) to have the necessary margin for the study and corresponding authorization of the changes. This has resulted in the denial of the entire event, even for those stages that were not affected by the changes.
This year we will notice their absence and we will be left with the desire to ride through the different municipalities of Gran Canaria in 8 stages. A peloton always accompanied by an important security device headed by the Guardia Civil, a score of motorcycle links and emergency services.
We know that you prefer to ride, but this situation leaves us no alternative but to offer you the refund of your registration fee or keep it as a reservation of your place for next year.
